FINAL PIECE QUESTIONS
In my final piece, I would want to write for trumpet, piano, saxophone, clarinet, and bass clarinet (including everyone). The piece will be about 2 to 3 minutes, more or less. I want the piece to be mysterious or jazzy. I can't decide which. I would use note flight for my piece. I will title it after I write it, so I have a better idea of what to title it. I will make my piece reflect my title by telling a story or describing something. The piece will (probably) start off slow and quiet, then get exciting in the middle, and crescendo and speed up in the end. For the provided picture of the cavemen, I think the composer wanted to say that his music is simple, basic, or easy to play.
Nice responses! However, I would actually advise against giving the piece a title after you've written the piece. I feel like a lot of your compositional decisions could be derived from the title (i.e. the source of inspiration! That's why we spent a day talking about emotions and inspirations). For instance, if you want to write a piece about, say, a crazy car chase, then your piece might be fast with quick rhythms and lots loud hits to emphasize that excitement. Or, if you want to write an elegy of some sort (for example, a piece for your pet that passed on), then you'll write a piece that's more subdued/quiet, and maybe more hymn-like. Just some things to think about. Aside from that - haha, I didn't mean for the farside comic to be serious, it's just a funny thing I tacked onto the end of that questions sheet :)
